“The Midweek Reset: When Your Thoughts Start Working Against You”

By the time Wednesday comes around, something shifts.
The motivation you had at the start of the week begins to fade.
Your energy dips. Your patience feels thinner. And your thoughts?
They get louder.
Not always dramatically—but subtly.
“I’m behind.”
“I’m failing.”
“This is too much.”
And the hard part is… we often don’t question those thoughts.
We just believe them.
In Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we understand something important:
👉 Your thoughts influence your emotions
👉 Your emotions influence your behaviors
So, when your thoughts shift midweek, everything else follows.
A single thought like “I can’t handle this” can lead to:
Feeling overwhelmed
Withdrawing or shutting down
Losing motivation
But here’s what many people don’t realize:
The thought itself may not be true—it may just feel true.
This is why Romans 12:2 is so powerful:
“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind…”
God never asked us to accept every thought.
He calls us to renew them.
And in 2 Corinthians 10:5, we’re reminded to:
“Take every thought captive…”
Not some thoughts.
Not just the obvious ones.
Every thought.
Let’s walk through this together:
1. Identify the Thought
What has been repeating in your mind this week?
2. Examine It
Ask yourself:
Is this 100% true?
What evidence do I actually have?
3. Replace It (Truth + Grace) Instead of:
“I’m failing”
Try:
“I’m doing the best I can in this season, and God is still working in me.”
Sometimes the thoughts hitting you this week
aren’t just about this week.
They’re rooted in:
Past disappointments
Old wounds
Fear of not being enough
So, give yourself grace.
You’re not just managing a schedule—
you’re navigating healing, growth, and life all at once.
This is your reminder:
You don’t have to believe every thought you think.
You don’t have to carry what’s weighing on your mind.
You can pause.
You can reset.
You can choose truth.
Even in the middle of your week.
Call to Action:
What’s one thought you’re choosing to release today?
Write it down—and replace it with truth.
