As the seasons shift and the days grow shorter, it’s easy to get caught up in routines and miss the quiet needs around us. But community isn’t just a group of people living side by side — it’s the heartbeat of kindness that connects us all.

This week, I want to challenge each of us (myself included) to slow down long enough to notice others — to look into faces, listen to stories, and reach out with compassion.

Maybe it’s checking on an elderly neighbor, paying for someone’s coffee, or sending a text that simply says, “You’ve been on my mind.” These small, intentional acts of care may seem ordinary, but they can be life-changing for someone who feels unseen.

As we move closer to Thanksgiving, may we remember gratitude grows when it’s shared. Compassion is how we water the roots of community.

Reflection for the Week: What’s one small act of kindness you can offer today to remind someone that they’re not alone?
