Today, we pause to recognize Domestic Violence Awareness Day — a day to honor survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and shed light on what is too often hidden in silence.

Domestic violence isn’t just physical. It can be emotional, financial, verbal, or psychological. It’s the quiet fear that builds behind closed doors, the control that steals someone’s voice, the isolation that makes them feel unseen.

If you’ve walked through that pain — or are still in it — please hear this:

💜 You are not alone.

💜 What happened to you was not your fault.

💜 You are worthy of safety, love, and peace.

Healing from abuse takes time. It’s not a straight line — some days you feel strong, other days fragile. That’s part of recovery. The mind and body both carry the memory of trauma, which can make trust, rest, or even self-compassion feel difficult. But every step forward — even the smallest — is sacred.

Faith reminds us:

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18

God sees the hidden pain. He grieves with those who have been hurt and restores what has been broken. He’s not asking you to pretend it never happened; He’s inviting you to heal, to rebuild, and to know you are deeply loved — just as you are.

🕊️Mental Health Note:

If you are healing from trauma, grounding techniques like deep breathing, journaling, or connecting with a trusted counselor can help you feel safe in your body again. Healing often starts with small moments of peace — and those moments matter.

Reflection Prompt:

What does safety look like for you now — physically, emotionally, and spiritually? What would it mean to take one small step toward peace this week?

Prayer:

God, thank You for seeing those who feel unseen.

For every survivor carrying silent pain, wrap them in Your protection and peace.

Remind them they are not broken — they are rebuilding.

Bring comfort, strength, and healing to every heart that has endured harm. Amen.

If you or someone you know is in danger, please reach out to the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) or visit thehotline.org for confidential help.
