Finding Peace This Weekend When the Holidays Feel Heavy

As the holidays get closer, emotions tend to rise. For some people, this time of year brings excitement and warmth — but for many others, it brings stress, pressure, and a sense of heaviness that’s hard to explain. You may be trying to juggle finances, plan meals, handle family expectations, or simply keep your household steady in a season that can feel emotionally overwhelming.

And when the world feels uncertain or resources feel stretched, those pressures can feel even more intense.

If you’re walking into this weekend with a tired heart or a worried mind, I want you to know this: you are not alone, and you are not expected to carry this season by yourself. God knows every concern you haven’t spoken out loud. He sees the weight behind your smile, and He understands the tension between wanting to enjoy the season and simply trying to make it through.

This weekend, give yourself permission to slow down.

Permission to breathe deeply.

Permission to step away from perfection and step into peace.

You don’t have to anticipate every problem.

You don’t have to fix everything at once.

You don’t have to be everyone’s strength while ignoring your own needs.

Let this be your reminder:

God is not asking you to perform for Him — He’s asking you to rest in Him. Even in uncertainty, even in anxiety, even when the holidays feel heavier than usual, His presence is steady and His peace is real.

As you move through this weekend, may you feel God’s comfort surrounding you, His wisdom guiding you, and His love gently lifting the weight from your shoulders. You deserve to enter this season with grace — not pressure.

One moment at a time. One breath at a time. One step with God at a time.Better days are ahead.
